Mafia turncoat tags Bobby Glasses as Gambino Family Leader

Former mob associate Howard Santos testified in the ongoing trial of alleged Gambino family mobster Bartolomeo “Bobby Glasses” Vernace.

Vernace is on trial for the 1981 murders of two Queens bar owners over of all things a spilled drink. He became a made member of the Gambino crime family in 1999 after he beat state murder charges of Shamrock Bar owners John D’Agnese and Richard Godkin according to the prosecution. It will be much harder for Vernace to beat the rap this time around as the prosecution is armed with new evidence which includes new testimony from eye witnesses who refused to testify at the previous state trial.

“Bobby Glasses Vernace”

According to the feds Vernace is currently a captain in the Gambino family but was a leader in the crime family at one point. Santos testified that word spread quickly among the ranks of the Gambino family when Bobby Glasses became a boss. He was part of a triumvirate of leaders running the Gambino family before he was arrested in 2011 according to Santos and the feds. Santos said it was as if you’re working in an office and certain people get promoted , you hear about it. He said that’s what we talk about when referring to crime family members.
