Michael Blutrich talks about the mafia and becoming an informant on 60 Minutes

 

Michael Blutrich appeared on 60 Minutes to tell his story of his business interactions with the mafia and his path to becoming an informant against them. The feds consider him to be one of the best ever civilian informants against the New York mafia. Blutrich tells the story of how the mob extorted more then $1 Million dollars from his blockbuster topless club “Scores“.

Blutrich ended up recording over 1000 hours of conversations and meetings over a year via secret wires and cameras that prosecutors used in indictments against the Gambino crime family back in 1998. Those he informed against included John Gotti Jr the former boss of the Gambino family along with dozens of other reputed mobsters. But the story doesn’t stop there even though he wasn’t part of an organized crime family he wasn’t exactly squeaky clean either.
