Colombo crime family mobster Francis “BF” Guerra was indicted along with Michael Persico and Theodore “Skinny Teddy” Persico for racketeering conspiracy which included two murders in a case which began back in 2012. While the
While the Persico’s both decided to cut plea deals Guerra took his chances in court and was acquitted of both 1990’s mob murders. The case began as a simple labor racketeering case against Michael and Theodore but after Colombo captain Anthony “Big Anthony” Russo turned rat murder charges were added against both Persico’s and Guerra. After his acquittal on the murder charges Guerra was convicted on drug charges for selling his prescription pain meds and was harshly sentenced to 14 years in prison by Brooklyn Federal Judge Sandra Townes.

A plea for relief was filed by Guerra citing lower sentencing guidelines for federal drug convictions which went into effect last year and caught a break. Although it was two years less then his lawyer was seeking Townes did agree to knock 33 months of of her original sentence. Prosecutors urged Townes to retain the original 14 year sentence even though they agreed that the New York mafia associate was eligible for a lesser sentence. Townes said that even though she disagreed with the jury’s not guilty verdict in the mafia murder trial, she made clear she was sending him to prison for his drug conviction and not the acquitted conduct of his 2012 trial.
With the sentence reduction and an added 15% reduction that is built into the federal prison term BF’s new terms translates to a little under a 10 year sentence and is now slated for release in June of 2021. Teddy Persico was sentenced to 12 years behind bars after agreeing to a plea deal. Michael Persico agreed to a plea deal and then filed a motion to have it rescinded, which was ultimately denied by judge Townes in the soap opera like ending to this drawn out case. Michael is facing a maximum sentence of up to five years, althouh his plea agreement calls for a recommended sentence between 37-46 months. His sentencing was delayed in September as Townes took ill but the case has been transferred to a new judge and Persico now awaits a new sentencing date.

With those soft plea deals the Persico’s both got and now the acquittal of Guerra this whole case was quite the mess for prosecutors. Sure they in end got Teddy and Michael off the streets for a while but definitely not the convictions they were looking for.
to be honest john they should not have got the sentences they got alot of the colombos have got very high sentences which i think are unfair those guys got heavy sentences even thought they beat the murders. Tommy g beat all those murders still got 18 years that soldier got 50 years he also beat all the murders guerra should have never got 14 years ridiculous the micheal is just trying to stay on the streets as long as possible and teddy got a good deal
The colombos seemed to have stabilised themselves in recent years , Thomas farese the current consigliere also walked free from court a few years ago , they also have 4 guys getting released next year . Acting captains Michael uvino and Michael catapano and Emanuel favuzza and Craig Marino
I think next year they could really begin to bounce back at least to the best extent they can after a long period of getting beat down. Long as they can dodge any major hurdles and convictions in near future.
Where did you here Craig Marino is an acting captain? The guy deserves it, he did make a lot of money for the family.
Also not much is known about the current administration which is a good thing , they seemed to have gone underground , donnie shacks was allegedly acting underboss but he lives in LA and farese the consigliere is based in Florida , mush Russo is nearly 309 years old so not sure if he is still acting . I did here Russo’s kid bully could be taking a larger role in running the family
I saw Russo’s kid mentioned a while back somewhere around the web cant remember exactly where but was first i had heard of him being associated with moving up in the family. Seems like there may be some young blood in Colombo’s who could step up.
billy russo is defo a young up and comer i hear he might even be street boss defo rebuilding the colombos
308
i hear billy russo is the street boss
You got a source for that info ??
people i speak to including someone who is very knowledgeable told me that but then again they could be wrong thats why i said what i hear i dont know if it is fact
also alot of people online seem to think that but you know dom as well as me that you have to be careful how much you read online alot of people chat bs
Does anyone really believe his 14 yr sentence wasn’t b/c of aquital? No,b/c others have gotten much less if not any prison time for same thing. Anyway,he got off lucky since if Persicos’ had gone to trial w/him he would’ve been found guilty,if only for associating with them. Hopefully his fam will be “cared” for, even though they won’t.
Dom, where did you hear Craig Marino is an acting captain? He should be, guy made a lot of money for the family.
I didn’t say Marino was an acting capo pal . It was catapano and uvino that were acting capos of the franseze crew , as far as I’m aware Marino has always been a soldier
