the mafia in New York leadership has been in some what of a transition period over the last several months with former acting boss Jospeh Ligambi going into what is being called semi-retirement. Who is the boss of the Philly mafia has been an ongoing debate of late and it seems like a ruling panel may now be in place. According to long time mob reporter George Anastasia considered one of the most reliable sources of Philly mob information a new ruling panel of street bosses is currently running the family. The new street boss panel is believed to be made up of Steve Mazzone, Phil Narducci, and John Ciancaglini.

Ligambi is believed to have taken sort of a consigliere role in the family in part with his semi-retired status. Now the question of whether or not Joey Merlino is still boss of the Philly mob is still considered to be unanswered by many. Some believe this new ruling panel may be a sign that Merlino is indeed out of the picture while other think it may be simply keeping things in order until Merlino finishes his recent prison stretch and gets off any supervised parole restrictions.

There has been plenty of speculation of late as to the new Philly mob hierarchy with reports of various members being made boss from unknown and or fairly questionable sources. Perhaps this idea of a ruling panel being in place is more of a safe way of saying that its still very unclear as to who the real boss is and that a power vacuum has developed. Maybe its a new road being taken by the mafia in Philadelphia to try and keep the peace and get everyone back to business. It should continue to be a very interesting year of mafia news coming out of Philly.
well what i am hearing it looks phil naducci is going to be made the offical boss very soon according to what i have been readng he is probably the most powerful and feared giu in the city done 30 years now wants the top spot which most guys in philly dont want because the heat it brings but phil is not even interested in the money he has always been an earner just like his father frank chcike who was shot dead by salvie testa in 1982 for the retatilation hit on salvie father phil testa incrdibily phil and his brother frank both went to work for slvie testa the same uy who killed there father after there father got killed the reason for this is simple phil naducci espicllaly wants to be a gangster according to philip leonetti
phil naduci has the respect on the streets and the guys backing him according to reports he has asked to become the offical boss and joey merlinio and steve mazzone are considering it as they know of the heat which comes with being boss but phil is in for the power like his father frank who died for killing phil testa who was the boss and breaking the commison rule like his son was alread rich wanted the power. Phil is very violent and will do whatever he sees as nessary to take over and is seen as a guy who would never rat steve mazzone and joey are hoping if they let him have the bosses seat he will calm down after he has been moving in on alot of guys rackets bu no one wants to mess with him or his crew if he becomes boss joey merlinio will be underboss, steve mazzone will be the street boss and chicke cianglini will be consiglerie accroding to the same reort looks like joey pung another scarfo era mobster who did 25years in prison could be in trouble as he helped kill phil naducci father and phil might of forgiven him in the 80s when phil was just some low level soilder but now he is a real power in the organization and is very angry at joey pung and could seek revenge
I wouldn’t count on Narducci being made boss just yet and he def doesn’t seem to be in the big chair now even though some anonymous untrusted sources have reported it. Now he may have an inside track depending on how involved Merlino still is and i think we may eventually see a power sharing situation if its not the case already as stated up top. But i don’t see Mazzone and the other factions being pushed aside totally by Narducci just don’t think as of now he has that kind of angle to play.
I think a lot of this is yet to be played out and def changes according to how much power Joey still holds if any at all on streets there.
He by the sounds of this report is on the ruling panel and he is very like his father in that they want power and mazzone could let phil take the heat of being boss but i do agree if this did happen mazzone,merlinio and johnny cicanglini would defetntly want power within the family and they did the same thing ralph natale but you are right no soild info has come out saying he is boss its going to be a very interesting year in Philly
