Philadelphia Mafia bust exposes new undercover informant

According to reports the feds have busted a New Jersey-based crew of the Philadelphia Mafia on various drug-related charges.

Among those arrested were Joseph (Joey Electric) Servidio and Salvatore (Sam) Piccolo both referred to in the indictment as made men and soldiers in the Philly mafia. According to the indictment the defendants are being charged with the trafficking of a whole host of different drugs. Also mentioned in the indictment are references to hundreds of hours of surveillance compiled by an undercover Philly mobster. So it seems that the Cosa Nostra family once again has a rat problem.

According to award-winning reporter Dave Schratwieser, the mafia snitch has been working for the feds since 2015. Dave also noted that court documents claim that the new mob cooperator “has proven to be credible and his info has been independently verified”. Many of the wiretap conversations collected by the cooperator had to do with drug deals involving made guys and associates along with other incriminating information. Servidio was caught telling the informant that he had cleared the drug dealing activity with his superior in the organized crime family.

This would likely be in reference to his captain or capo. He also adds that his mafia bosses told him to stay out of Atlantic City and wanted him to check in on all meetings to ensure soldiers weren’t making money under the table. The current captain of the Philadelphia mafia families Jersey faction is believed to be Joseph (Scoops) Licata. There are also reference to meetings Servidio had with yet unnamed higher ranking members of the mafia in Philadelphia last year along the Jersey Shore according to Scott Burnstein’s gangsrerreport. He even brags about making his bones in the mafia at age 19.

In a somewhat ironic twist, Servidio once told the informant “The things you can’t beat are the tapes … with you saying it, that’s what you did, you know” in reference to how hard it is to beat a case involving an informant. Both the alleged made guys have criminal backgrounds and Piccolo is the nephew of former Philly mob acting boss Anthony Piccolo. There may be more arrest to come as the case continues to unfold.
