FBI Tapes Continue To Haunt Philly Crime Family

This week’s Mob Scene with George Anastasia looks into the upcoming Mafia trial for the Philadelphia Crime Family.

Acting Philadelphia Mafia boss Joseph Ligambi and six others including underboss Joseph “Mousie” Massimino, Capo Joseph “Scoops” Licata, and George Borgesi are going to trial in Philadelphia Federal Court. One major piece of evidence the

Feds plan to use against the Philly mobsters are tapes made by former Gambino family soldier Nicholas “Nicky Skins” Stefanelli. Stefanelli wore a wire for the feds for two years before committing suicide and got several mobsters from New York to Philadelphia on tape.

These Stefanelli tapes could not only be a problem for Philly mobsters in the upcoming trial but continue to be a problem for some Philly wiseguys who have already agreed to plea deals like Louis “Big Lou” Fazzini and other mobsters from the New York crime families.
