Colombo Family Street Boss DeLeo Sentenced to 199 Months

The former Colombo crime family street boss Ralph Deleo was sentenced today to 235 months in prison for racketeering and firearm charges.

Deleo was credited with 36 months of time served and now has 199 months remaining on his sentence. Deleo was Colombo family street boss and also head of the DeLeo Crew based in Somerville. Deleo and his crew engaged in extortion, drug trafficking, loan sharking, and foreign and interstate travel in aid of racketeering. According to prosecutors, the crew operated in areas of New York, Arkansas, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Deleo agreed to a plea deal instead of going to trial. Deleo’s prison term of 199 months is to be followed by supervised release for three years and a fine of $50,000. Prosecutors said the “DeLeo Crew” was a separate enterprise from the Colombo family in New York but Deleo used its criminal activities to maintain and increase his position in the Colombo Family. This is another of many leaders of the Colombo crime family of La Cosa Nostra to be convicted in the last few months as the feds assault on the crime family continues.
