The Life and Death of John Gotti is a biopic about the life of infamous New York mafia boss who controlled the Gambino crime family.
John Travolta is set to play the role of “the Dapper Don” in the upcoming film with Kelly Preston (Travolta’s real-life wife) is set to play the role of Gotti’s wife. The movie is going to be directed by Kevin Connolly known for his role in the hit series Entourage. According to recent reports pre-production is already underway and the new mafia movie is going to be filmed in Cincinnati starting on July 25th. It is set to premiere sometime in 2017 and is being distributed by Lionsgate.
The film is being produced by Emmett/Furla Oasis Films in association with Fiore Films. According to a press release anyone interested in being an extra in the new John Gotti movie should send contact information and head shots to (gottiextras@gmail.com). Producers are also looking for automobiles for the movie especially Cadillacs, Buicks, and Lincolns from the 1970s-90s. I will admit I am kind of looking forward to seeing this. Although I really enjoyed the previous movie Gotti with Armand Assante so they will have to do some great work here to outdo that one in my opinion.
Assante was a perfect Gotti. This movie will be interesting. I hope Travolta can pull it off.

This is based on Jrs book? So will there be any “Hollywood” fiction injected,if only to make some of his “acts” seem to be needed? Anyway,like @JohnGrant213 said Armond Assante did play him great but I’m wondering if anyone knows where how i can get a copy of or go to see it again?
Yes hopefully they won’t “hollwood” it up too much and if they do it likely won’t be all that great. You can find the Gotti movie with Assante on Youtube there is a full HD version , just search “Gotti movie” and it should still be available.
Originally Travolta had big name actors for Gotti Movie..This is low budget Travolta castt….and movie…..In my opinion the cast should include some actors who are or at least resembles East Coast Italians…The 2 movies I am looking forward to are The Corrupt and the Dead movie on history of Philadelphia mob and the Blockbuster upcoming movie with Al Pacino,Robert Dinero and Joe pesci.From the director of Godfather about the irish hit man and Italian mob,jimmy Hoffa
I wish they’d use some the portrayal of Gotti like what was written about in Welwyn Raab’s “Five Families” account, rather than the Hollywood fiction injected. Due to it being a major motion picture, I’m sure they’ll Hollywood-ize it because they always do that.
