Former Gambino crime family underboss turned rat Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano is seeking a reduction on his 20 year prison sentence which is set to be completed in 2017. Gravano was sentenced to the current 20 year sentence for running a massive ecstasy operation based in Arizona. Sammy the bull made headlines when he turned rat and testified against his fellow mobster and one time Gambino family boss John Gotti. He was rewarded for his cooperation getting a ridiculous deal having to only serve five years on charges which included 19 mafia hits.

Federal prosecutors this time around are not backing the mob snitch according to court documents. Brooklyn Federal Judge Allyne Ross was reminded that prosecutors have said all along Gravano deserved more then the 20 year senetence he originally recieved and he benefited then from a cap on his sentencing guidelines. Assistant U.S. Attorney said in court documents that Sammy the bull squandered a chance to live a law abiding life and instead only months after his release launched an illegal drug enterprise.
The now 70 year old Gravano is eligible for a sentence reduction under an amendment to the federal sentencing guidelines which was approved last year. Most would agree it would be shocking if he was able to wiggle in a sentence reduction after all he has done previously.
Absolutely ridiculous if this guys gets any kind and i mean even 10 minutes of a sentence reduction. It was pathetic the way he got such a pathetic deal when he testified against Gotti and this would be a spit in the face to law abiding citizens worse then the first time around.
I agree. Gravano pretty much lied when testifying against Gotti. The FBI probably knew it, but they wanted Gotti that bad. I read Carlo’s book Gaspipe and he said he sold drugs to Gravano all the time and when this happened it showed that the FBI got it wrong with him.
I advise you read al D’arco book with jerry capeci because gaspipe lies in that book constantly I mean that book is so biased and inaccurate he tries to big casso up who is one of the biggest scum ever in the mafia but the drug thing with sammy is true Sammy dealt weed in the 70s but gaspipe is a truely evil man that book is NOT good get al D’Arco book for an understanding of the lucheses under gaspipe and vic tony ducks biggest mistake was giving the family to them two idiots I wish the bronx faction whacked them they would say a stand up guy is a rat then they would kill him and take over his rackets mike salerno is the biggest example of this

I read both books. Sam and gas pipe are scum. Fbi had a hard on for gotti and allowed scum to testify. Gotti was an idiot, but at least he was gangster to the end

Agreed they had Gotti by the balls even with out Sammy and he would of taken any deal he could get was no need to let that scum off so easy if at all.
The feds should be ashamed of what they did with Gravano and letting that scum back on streets to help further their own agenda.

You know many don’t know this but in 1994 Sammy plotted to whack junior gotti sammy in witness prot feared that junior was going to have sammys son killed so Sammy in retaliation with another govt witness planned to hit junior but another rat in witness prot told the feds who covered things up and the feds only admitted it a few years ago

Junior ‘s a rat and alite is a lier. Junior was not the same guy is father was John gotti was a bad boss but a real gangster junior no he was out of his depth John made him capo way to early the guy was too young. He was a real gangster not like most I mean he was not known for being a killer just a good earner i know when he got out he said he was planning on buying a golf course and setting up a sports book that was how he was going to get back in the game he was away for a 11 years he was close with arnold but he does not know the sicilians. It’s true Sammy is a rat ,but he knew gotti was going to whack him. In or out of jail he was going to get whacked ,plus gotti got himself caught up flapping his gums. Don’t get me wrong I love gotti but he did it to himself ,Sammy just help bury the hatchet. It’s wrong he had his kids selling drugs ,but they were old enough to know better. Low life raise low life but I can’t hate on him that he hustled the government and he’s about to do it again.
