Pasquale (Patsy) Parrello an alleged captain in the Genovese crime family was charged last year in the massive racketeering conspiracy tied to what the feds have called the East Coast LCN Enterprise.
According to the feds, Parrello was a leader in the mafia enterprise that included members and associates from four of the five families of the New York mafia and the Philadelphia mafia. After his arrest back in August, his lawyers fought to have him released from prison on a $2 million dollar bond. According to this new NY Daily News report, the mobster had supporters come to his aid offering to guarantee the bond including an ex-judge.
(Pasquale Parrello)
The 72-year-old reputed wiseguy is also a restaurateur and owns a well-known Bronx eatery named Pasquale’s Rigoletto. Why would a former judge step out to aid an alleged mobster to get back on the streets well according to retired judge Anthony Fiorella it was because he likes the food at the restaurant. According to Fiorella he along with his brother-n-law and sister are regulars at Parrello’s place. While dining there several months ago someone asked if he would be willing to help Parrello with his case said Fiorella. He told the NYDailyNews “I agreed to try to help him out in some way if he needed help,” Fiorella explained, adding, “The only thing I can say is we’ve been going there for several years and how it happened, I can’t recall.”
According to the former judge he couldn’t recall any specifics about the request for help and there had been no bail discussion while he was at the restaurant. He said his relationship with Parrello was nothing more than brief “Hello, how are you?” interactions during his visits to the restaurant. He also denied having any knowledge of the charges against the alleged Cosa Nostra mobster or the status of the case. When asked if the quality of the food at Pasquale’s Rigoletto played a role in his agreeing to help Fiorella enthusiastically said sure. He said “The food has always been good. The restaurant is very nice, the people are all great. The employees they have a good attitude and they are very helpful.”
Manhattan Federal Judge Richard Sullivan who denied the bail petition originally agreed to keep the names of the supporters private. But he recently changed his mind and unsealed the court documents naming the supporters for which Fiorella was among. Fiorella who worked in both the Brooklyn Housing Court and the Bronx Housing court said he didn’t think there was anything wrong with offering his support since he is now retired from the bench. Parrello is awaiting trial along with other alleged leaders of the East Coast LCN Enterprise that include reputed Genovese family capo Eugene “Rooster” O’Nofrio and Philly mafia boss Joseph (Skinny Joey) Merlino.

Interesting how often we see people like judges and priest etc come to back these mobsters during those troubled times. I think it shows how the mob and mobsters in general still have respect in certain neighborhoods and area’s of the city esp in NY and continue to cultivate important relationships often tied to their street status. Sure the food was good so let me offer my support for bail to a guy i say hello to now and again lol hmmm yea sure.
Ha! Great restaurant.. Arthur ave in the Bronx. Judges.. Prosecutors..cops are welcome.
quality food!
any idea why no news has been posted on this site?
Okay now, I’m thirsty for some new Mafia news and you’re stagnating. 😉
they have some big news now nicky scarfo just died
Now Persico, Sonny Franzese up next.
a lot of these guys are live very long but I think this year we will see a lot of those guys are very old now second old school guy to die already joey Bilotti died last week
Last year the big deaths were Gerald Chilli sally larcara joe the cat and pete chiodo
oh wow, I didn’t know Fate Pete died. As big as he was surprised he made this long.
he made it into his mid 60s for someone who was a big guy and survived getting shot 12 times he lived longer than everyone expected
interesting guys Joey B was a real gangster he was the guy who had a meeting with borgesi in Florida recently just before he died became very religious in later life lost a brother and had to work for the guy he knew helped have him killed that must be hard
Not sure why Tony ducks ever gave the keys to gaspipe and amuso. A slew of guys went down or started singing because of these two..
They were not original choice. Buddy luongo was as I recall. Then they murdered him to procure the positions. Casso has been with Christie for years, so he seemed fit. Turned out to be terrible choice.
Disastrous results Indeed!
That’s right..They took care of Buddy.
I think every family has their most legendary boss. For the Philadelphia crime family it was Angelo Bruno. There will never be another Angelo Bruno. Nicodemo Scarfo, John Stanfa, Ralph Natale, and Joseph Merlino are jokes by comparison. Joseph Ligambi is alright but still doesn’t compare. Just the fact that they would kill a boss like Angelo Bruno tells you all you need to know about his successors. My opinion anyway.
Philly went down hill fast after Bruno. Scarfo did make lots of money, but they didn’t take advantage of Atlantic City. They had limited union control, and let five families in. The 80’s bosses in general were all poor replacements. gigante being lone exception.
scarfo was a nutjob but probably the last real LCN boss in philly. Stanfa tried to run that family like they do in New York I always think he had an impossible job trying to bring bunch of old men misfits and arrogant kids who felt because of there name they deserved a position.
Joey ran it like a street gang betting into his own guys books even heard he was betting into johnny changes book and never paying could never earn joey dident know how to degenerate gambler
I agree. Let’s look at New York. John Gotti and Vittorio Amuso were poor replacements for Paul Castellano and Anthony Corallo. Vincent Gigante had already been boss I believe before the 80s, Anthony Salerno being his puppet. Joseph Massino I think was a good replacement for Philip Rastelli. He turned his family around but somehow everything still fell apart. Carmine Persico wouldn’t give up control even though he knew he was never getting out of jail, causing infighting.
Most now think Gigante took over from Lombardo in late 70’s, early 80’s. So I agree about likely being boss already. Massino did help for a while, but destroyed everything and more by ratting. i also agree Persico let his own ego/greed ruin family. I must say, current bosses are a throwback to the old school. Cali, Bellomo, Crea, are all doing very well. The other two still can’t get it right. I always enjoyed Amuso/Cassio’s plan to combine Luchese/Colombo. Gotti/Gigante vetoed the idea. Why not join the two struggling families.
Then it would be the 4 families of New York lol. I like the idea of 5 better. I’m thinking that once Carmine Persico dies the Colombos’ fortunes might change. He really needs to take his hands off completely. I think it would be better if they were ran by someone other than a Persico relative.
I don’t know much about their family these days. From what I read, they lack strong leaders in general. Likely because Persico always wants a relative in charge. He’s 83 I think, he days are numbered. His son is a lifer, I don’t see Michael trying to grab power, as most think he’s not even made.
the colombos are not as weak as people think a lot of those guys busted in recent years are out or getting out soon strongest since tommy g was running things. As for the persicos not what they used to be danny persico teddy is in his 80s now died last year but still have a lot of influence I have heard some of his grandsons involved one of his cousins was killed few years back.
The Russos are still around they are perisco loyalists cousins andy might be early 80s but he is a lifer and his son billy is said to be a capo even see some say he is one of the leaders today nothing to confirm that yet wouldent surprise me
as for micheal he might aswell be a capo because that’s the sort of influence he has that guy is a power made or not
that plan would have never worked there would have been a war on a scale never seen before it was cassos plan aswell not amusos. Al D`arco was the guy who advised him it was a bad idea the commmsion would have blocked if he had tried that is correct orena was gottis guy and the westside had a lot of influence(still do) over the lucheses they dident need them getting too strong
in 2000 at the last known commission meeting it was suggested again but the majority of the luchese family were against it they dident want to work with people they dident know/trust. Plus Peter gotti would have blocked it anyway.
True, it was a pipe dream on Casso’s part. I mentioned Amuso because he was with Casso at meeting with Gotti, Gravano, Gigante, and Benny Eggs. casso was real power.
casso was manipulating amuso the whole time no doubt about that. Amuso only realized when it was too late
its been few weeks nothing new has been posted… theres been alot of mob related activity in Montreal, Philidelphia (Nick Scarfo dead). who is responsible for posting new material?
Not sure, but I was thinking same thing. Anyone know of any mafia forums or sites that stay active with comments?

same news and layout to this site
big news was in gangland today lovargio the bonanno capo has been shelved after that bar fight not the first one has two previous fights he has to go to court including one with a retired cop. Apparently Cammerno is furious with the heat he has brought on the family a lot of people think he is a rat feds been spotted around him a lot lately and he got pulled over 4 in the morning with a knife no license and told the cops for no reason he is in the mafia and out on bail and has just done 15 years needs a knife for protection the guy is losing it. I think he might flip or get whacked if he keeps this up very jumpy
sonny franzense is getting released soon but he is ill at the moment
I would be shocked by a hit in this day and age. But sounds like he may be flipping material. Interesting to see how it plays out
i would be surprised if he gets whacked but not shocked there has been mob hits in recent years normally at least one or two every year and that’s not even including associates and wannabes who are always killing each other look at Anthony Perretti he was with Lovargio he had beef over some drug deals with Richard Gambale who was with the gambinos fight broke out Richard stabbed him to death stuff like that happen from time to time. Been a number of plots to kill last big mob killings was probably medlish in 2013 and Christopher Mignone 2011 (periscos cousin)
but i agree i think he will stay shelved but he is getting jumpy this article will cause him a lot of problems aswell a lot of mobsters read gangland news remember during the ligambi trial feds tried to ban borgesi reading it
I don’t think they will kill Peter Lovaglio for the simple fact that everyone will know who did it and why. He definitely seems like rat material. But I wonder if there’s any proof that he actually said that he’s in the Mafia.
he got pulled over by a cop who reported it in now they could have it in for him and they are lying i doubt it this guy has been shelved and the story of him carrying a knife makes sense the guy seems to constantly been getting in fights the mafia bit could be made up who knows but i do know he has been shelved and feds have been seen around him lately
sharp.s don’t know whats happened will see if I can make contact with the people running this site
