John Travolta looks razor sharp as he takes on the role of larger than life former New York mafia boss John Gotti in the upcoming crime biopic.
Travolta was seen stepping into character as the new mafia movie called The Life and Death of John Gotti was shooting in Brooklyn New York and there seems to be a moderate resemblance to the legendary Dapper Don. It is being directed by Kevin Connolly and features other stars including Kelly Preston as Victoria Gotti, William DeMeo as Sammy Gravano, and Leo Rossi as mobster Bobby Boriello. The movie is set to be released sometime later this year although there is yet to be an official release date.

The new John Gotti movie had been an on again off again project since news of it broke back in 2010. Now that filming has finally begun we get some of the first inside looks at Travolta playing the role of the infamous mafia boss. The video captures scene’s of Gotti and some of his henchmen including Sammy the Bull. More information on the movie in a previous article here. This will definitely be one of the more interesting movies about the mafia this year and hopefully, it will meet or even exceed its modest expectations.
Okay I will admit that Travolta is kind of pulling off the “Gotti” look at least to some extent there. Who knows maybe this will be better then we think.

Armand Assante did a great job at playing John Gotti, but the movie GOTTI itself wasn’t as good as it could have been. There’s so much more to John Gotti that’s not in the movie. After watching GOTTI you get the sense that John Gotti became boss one day and woke up in jail the next day. As short as his reign was there was a lot more that occurred than what was in the movie. That’s why I prefer books. If the movie included all of the details from the books I think GOTTI could have been as long as a Godfather movie.
I can’t imagine many will care about this movie. I’ll watch it, and I agree, I hope it’s new parts to already well known story.
I think the film is based of juniors book anyway he is making this film the gottis have always wanted to tell there side of the story expect it to be biased but there should be new information still got to be careful not too believe too much of what they are saying.
That scene was ridiculous with Assante and ruggerio not only were they not speaking at that time but can you imagine john gotti of all people doing that apart from that I think he nailed gotti. The actual gotti film was not the best

Assante was the best gotti no doubt about that. both movies had little truth to them witness to the mob was slightly better but even that missed out a lot and lied about most of what happened. Good movies but not a lot of truth to them
This movie is being made by junior so it expect it too be very biased towards the gottis at time should still be a good movie looking forward to it but like the other movies not expecting much truth
took 30 years to take down Gotti theres just to much, Scorsese should have directed this, luckily we will see his new mob movie with deniro and pesci
Another Gotti movie/programme, i will watch it but i hope there is more truth to this one.. gotti made a massive dent to the mafia with his publicity and bitching that was caught on tapes, he also made a massive blunder with ravenite social club. in the Assante movie he was played out to be some god like figure or hero at the end, in my opinion that is far from the truth.
No in the end he was played out to be a real man who would rather do a hundred years in prison than be a rat, which was the truth. But I agree with everything else you said.
these things are complicated he was not god but a lot of people on the streets at that time did see him that way and he was a real stand up guy one thing you cant say about any of the gottis really Is they cant do time.
The publicity was his biggest mistake no doubt about it he hurt himself and the whole Gambino family. The bitching they all do it jealousy in that life is everywhere its not like he thought he was on tape should have been smarter where he spoke and those murders he should not have been talking about gravanos excuse however that he was angry about gotti talking about him on tape was why he flipped he forgets to mention he is on nearly all of those tapes except for that one night where gotti ranted about those murders and LoCasico got life in prison for sitting in the wrong room at the wrong time ridiculous he does not deserve this. He also had that ridiculous no plea deal rule and allowed gravano to manipulate and have good people killed

This is John gotti is sister. Even as a mob boss he was still a caring loving man and father and brother. No one will ever know the real truth except family and all that goes on is not necessarily the truth
