Marco D’Amico took a brief hiatus from his administrative position in the Chicago Mafia while the recent leadership transition took place.
As Chicago mob boss John DiFronzo retired from day to day operations veteran mobster Joseph Andriacchi stepped in as acting consigliere to ease the transition to new acting boss and heir apparent Salavtore “Solly D” DeLaurentis. Now that Solly D is firmly in control the consigliere duties have been handed back over the D’Amico according to sources from Scott Burnstein and his Gangsterreport.
“Marco D’Amico“
It is believed that Andriacchi who originally stepped down in late 2000’s due to medical problems will likely step back into retirement now that things are running smoothly atop the Chicago Outfit. Along with DeLaurentis and D’Amico the current Chicago mob hierarchy also including underboss Salvatore Cataudella.
Albert Verna is now believed to be captain of the mobs westside operations taking over for Joseph “Joey the Clown” Lombardo. Rudy Fratto is believed to be capo of the Elmwood park crew and James Inendino the capo over the Cicero crew as well as a de-facto underboss. The mafia in Chicago has been seen as a family in decline over the last few years and looks to rebuild and re-establish itself under the new regime. We may see more mafia news coming out of the Windy City real soon.

Strange, the Outfit was decimated on the way out. The NY Families the same thing. Shoot they even sayed it about Philly. Well they never will die b/c of one thing, the whole unit all the made members and associates would have to be arrested convicted (legally) and jailed (for life). Then and only then would the Mafia be gone. Until their sons grew up. Just leave them alone as long as they only kill assault themselves
very true i completely agree with you the feds and press like to claim the mobs on its “last legs” since the late 90s is aload of rubbish the new york familys have got stronger last ten years so has philly joe ligambini rebuilt that family the outfit still strong smaller but still very strong still run hundreds of millions dollars from unions, construction, p**n, shakedowns, gambling, loansharking and many other rackets as long as there is rackets available and there is aload of italien amercians wanting into the mafia it will exist infact its grown last en years and the siggs and ndgnata members now hold alot of ground in newyork
Yup. They always try to claim that the mafia is done or on its way out. It’s just good P.R. for the feds to say. It makes them feel good to think they’re actually accomplishing something. It’s like whacamole. One goes down, another comes up. Three go down, three go up. They know this. The mob has — and is still — just adjusting to the digital age. They’re essentially operating how they did at their inception. No technology, no bright lights, no flashy guys, no spotlights. Just laying low. That’s why many people think they’re gone or dwindling. There just isn’t much press because everyone is so focused on Middle Eastern terrorists. All — or most — of the federal resources have been allocated to that detail. Its been like this since 9/11. 9/11 was actually the best thing that ever happened for the mob. The Italian American mob doesn’t just go away. It never will.
people who claims its dead are naive they watch these gotti documentaries from 20 years ago and think they know the inside out of the mob cant stand those documentaries
five familys will be here for a long time i cant seem them going away anytime soon detroit and chicago maybe one day but the others should be fine but next 25 years you wont notice much difference even the outfit will be here 50 years there may be the start in my opinion the real decline of membership in that the italien population will be reduced but i think they will adapt 50 years from now you will start seeing guys who are half italien getting there button sure its not the same i believe though some disagree that in my lifetime there will always be a mob in a some shape and form
to be honest the feds in the 90s were claiming that they beat the mob etc interesting in 1990 they said the mob was on the way out by 2005 a FBI agent said the mob is still here and is impossible to take down
