The mob sure ain’t what it used to be. Everyones just looking out for themselves now, ratting on anyone and anyone.

Not that I’m saying they shouldn’t. The mob would kill them at the drop of a hat, so why even bother showing any loyalty

The mob are stronger than what there were ten years ago so i wouldn’t say they are not what they used to be but if you are comparing them to the 80s i would agree this is sickening this guy has only got 11years even though he was the shooter it shows the feds will deal with any one to get mob guys look at Gravno for instance

Right i think the New York families maybe except for the colombo’s are rallying some under the current conditions and less resources being devoted to them by feds as they concentrate more on counter terrorism.

and i agree on Pagan , he should of got life !

My view on this is the mafia started screwing up when they took on serial murderers instead of smart gangsters. All the best bosses since early 20th century were not homicidal maniacs, and did not have people killed for stupid reasons, most of the time based on greed.

I would say look at Angelo Bruno. Philly were doing great until the homicidal maniacs took over the family.

True but those days the FBI did not care as much and mob guys did not rat.During the mob glory days 50,60s they had few rats but in the 80s it all collapsed probably due to the commission case as soon as the mob lost its commison there was no one to stop mob violence look at The Luchese family went on a killing spree,Colombo family had huge mob,Philly mob went into a war with Merlino against Stanfa and Lastly Gambino family had its boss killed Paul Castenlo by Gotti.
Many thought the mob would die but it has reorganized in New York and is growing stong expect for the Colmbo family which will never recover from the war in the 90s.
In Philly it has struggled to cope since Bruno was killed and then Scarfo imprisoned it has led to power struggles for last twenty years but now there is alot of mob guys back on streets so interesting to see what happens
In New Jersey Decavanctle family who the Sopranoes are based on were weakend in the early 2000s due to many top guys turning rat it has lost alot of land to the New York familys but it has reorganized its self by inducting many new guys into the family and is one of stronger families outside of New York
In Chicago the mob has weakend due to the mob are scared to induct new members because of fear of rats and drug dealers
In New England the mob regrouped and grew after Whity Bulger incident but in last four/five years they have been hit hard by feds but getting alot of guys back on streets
In Detroit the mob has a new leadership panel they are probably the most efficient family in history of the mob never fight within each other hardly ever get rats and do business quietly like in the old days
Elsewhere the mob still shows signs of life in Cleveland and Kanas City.Places like Los Angeles which used to be mob filled city has noe lost its mob family and now the Newyork families eg Gambino family are operating out there. In Vegas the mob have lost all influence. In Atlantic city they have lost the casino but familys still there like Luchese family.Flordia is ruled by the New York familys.
Many places that used to have familys have now lost there territory has the New York familys are the only ones who have the man power to take them except for maybe Chiacgo
