Who are the leaders of the montreal mob now? I thought that with Vito Rizzuto son, brother in law and father killed during the war there would be no one left to revenge him when he died so I don’t think it would be a revenge attack

There is still what remains of the Rizzuto Family and the Sicilian mafia power base in Montreal and wouldn’t be shocked at all if this hit was indeed sanctioned by them along with the recent hits in Toronto. Rocco Sollecito is believed to be one of the high ranking Rizzuto family leaders who may not be in a top ranking spot along with a few other top capo’s under Vito.

Many believed that Joseph had been a marked man for a while now and was def keeping a low profiles since Vito was released and perhaps he finally slipped up. He had a lot of enemies past the mob but it seems like this could of very well been a hit by the biker gangs on orders from the mafia as they continue to clean house and settles old debts some of which were those of Vito’s.

Under Vito it was said the Rizzuto family had alliances and influence over a majority of the criminal organizations in Montreal and around Canada. It was also said he made deals to make everyone money and its part of reason he stayed in power for so long. Have to figure much of that influence is still in place today at least to some extent.
