Montreal mafia leader Andrew Scoppa murdered

Andrew Scoppa an alleged leader in the Montreal Mafia was gunned down this morning in the parking lot of a shopping center in Pierrefonds according to reports.

Andrew is the brother of Salvatore Scoppa who was gunned down last May in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel in Laval. According to recent reports, authorities believe the Scoppa’s may have been involved in the murders of key Rizzuto family mobsters including Rocco Sollecito and Lorenzo Giordano. Recent arrests were made in connection to the Rizzuto murders but Scoppa’s name was not yet a part of that case. The investigation into the murder is now ongoing and we will try and update as soon as more information becomes available from authorities.

Andrew Scoppa

“Andrew Scoppa”

There is little information from police as to any suspects or witnesses to the brutal Mafia murder. It seems what remains of the Rizzuto crime family allegedly led by Stefano Sollecito may be taking its revenge for the previous attacks and what could in up being a failed plot to dismantle the Rizzuto’s. Andrew Scoppa was seen by many to be more of a leader than his brother Salvatore.

Andrew’s name surfaced in some reports as a possible interim leader of the Mafia in Montreal at one point. Things have been fairly quiet since the murder of Salvatore last May and some rumors of a truce had surfaced over the last few months. So it’s unclear as to what the possible fall out maybe from this latest violent episode. The Montreal Mafia war doesn’t seem to be over just yet.
