The New England mafia continues to try and rebound from an extremely rough stretch which left the Cosa Nostra family in disarray over the last few years.
Alleged Underboss Carmen “The Cheeseman” DiNunzio may be poised to take full control of the Patriarca crime family if he hasn’t already. The families reputed acting boss Anthony “Spucky” Spagnolo is headed to prison for a couple years on extortion charges and alleged official boss Peter Limone many believe in name alone is long retired due to health concerns. The Big Cheese is still on parole after his release from prison last February but it hasn’t stopped him from working on getting the mafia family back in order.
“Carmen DiNunzio“
According to law enforcement sources DiNunzio has allegedly been beefing up the ranks of the New England mob holding a recent “making” ceremony. The recent initiation class is believed to have included Tore Marino, Louis DiNunzio, and Johnny Scarpelli all known DiNunzio loyalists. Local law enforcement sources claim Carmen wanted to add soldiers to the family that would be loyal to him and his brother Anthony DiNunzio. Anthony also a high ranking member of the Patriarca family is currently doing a stretch in prison for a 2012 conviction and won’t be out until 2018.
Both Marino and Scarpelli were busted back in 2006 alongside Carmen on federal racketeering charges. The Big Cheese also promoted his former bodyguard and driver Gregory “Fat Greg” Costa to captain recently. The DiNunzio brothers are believed to have become made members of the mob back in 1997 and made their way through the ranks over the years. Carmen is believed to have been promoted to underboss back in 2004 and brother Anthony is believed to have served as families acting boss for a short time. If the New England mafia is going to rebound heading into the new year and beyond it seems like it may be under the lead of the DiNunzio brothers.

They definitely have a ways to go to be considered back on the rise but as the power has shifted to Boston it seems they are as stable as they have been in some time. Carmen definitely seems capable so it will be an interesting year watching the progress if any of the New England mob.
i would not say they are on the rise more that the decline of this family has been exaggerated those indicments 2005-2012 hurt them but people were making it out to be they were on the verge of collapsing. There is at least 30 made guys in boston maybe even 40 and in rhoden island at least 15 made guys maybe even more. I can think of three capos in Rhoden island and even more in boston
I think it was and was not exaggerated depending on which way your looking at things. They still by estimates have approx 30-35 made guys including the newly made but the family has with out a doubt been crippled over last decade and was definitely in a decline. When the power base shifted to Boston it was a clear signal the family would never again be even close to what it was so i think the decline was real although the family being on brink of death was def an exaggeration.
true the rhoden island faction was hurt badly with bobby DeLuca flipping and those guys getting busted and baby shacks getting busted
that faction your right wont be the same again but there was always more made guys in boston than there was in rhoden island baby shacks took over in the late 90s because there was a power vacuum that needed to be filled he was the only capable guy
I agree it will be cool to see how big they can get.
There is at least 30 made guys in boston maybe even 40 and in rhoden island at least 15 made guys maybe even more the decline of this family was exaggerated and is why i seem them as one of the bigger familys outside New York. Still got union and casino influence
joe ruggerio multi millionaire he is based in Rhoden island a capo, anthony parillo another capo and matthew Gugelmenti the head of the whole faction. Then you have the biggest and most powerful crew the DiNizuio crew spagnelos crew in the east side eddies old crew. Louie D is also not part of the DiNizuio crew he is part of a different crew according to anthony DiNizuio he was caught on tape talking about it.
