Wonder if Leonardo Rizzuto has any links or input into the crime family now. I know some rumors have linked him to the new “leadership table” but not sure any have been substantiated so far.

Honestly if you think about it. For many years now law enforcement and the news has focused on the New York Mafia, a lot of this attention has allowed the other families across north america to be able to build up again. Montreal, Philly and New Jersey have had the time to really rebuild but with the build up, the prison releases and new recruitment from Sicily tensions are going to rise and stay up. Philly is another good example. At least in my opinion

Not to mention that laws in Canada used to target the mafia there are way behind the ones in the U.S. and that has made it a lot easier for the mob their to maintain a grip on many profitable area’s illegal and legit. They are making strides but a long way to go up North before law enforcement catches up and begins to be more effective as they have in states.

Throwing a Molotov cocktail,on a roof, served what purpose? Or,besides reminding me of The Gang that couldn’t Shoot Straight, was this a sign that everyone is now a target no matter how small/insignificant their assosiation to Rizzuto is/was? Since, why bother an Attny? Just wondering/interested

Yes its been for some time now a kind of message by the various organized crime organizations in the area including the mafia. His son Leonardo has been mentioned as possibly being a part of the new leadership table currently in control of the Montreal mafia so perhaps it was a partial reason for the attack on that exact location. Also its still doesn’t seem clear if its an outside the Rizzuto family problem or perhaps an internal beef.
