According to reports alleged Musitano crime family associate Jason Lalonde was shot multiple times in a targeted hit.
The 43-year-old reportedly answered the door of his Stoney Creek townhouse and was shot several times by his attacker. He was rushed to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive. According to a Toronto Sun report, police are investigating a possible Mafia link to the shooting. Authorities are looking into a black SUV that was seen leaving the area following the shooting. They are hoping to uncover additional information from local surveillance videos along with any witnesses who are willing to come forward. Lalonde is apparently known to police but sources say he is not believed to be a made member of the mafia clan.
Back in April Musitano family boss Pat Musitano barely survived an assassination attempt that took place outside his lawyer’s office in Mississauga. This seems like it could be yet another strike against the Musitano’s in the ongoing Hamilton Mafia war. There have already been multiple casualties including Pat’s brother Angelo Musitano and Cece Luppino. While CeCe was not believed to be directly involved in organized crime he is the son of reputed mob leader Rocco Luppino.
It remains unclear as to whether or not the Luppino crime family is the rival faction behind the attacks on the Musitano’s. There have been plenty of rumors and theories surrounding the bloodshed that include links to the GTA, Montreal, and even the New York and Buffalo Mafia. If this Jason Lalonde shooting is what it seems to be another hit against them it will be interesting to see if Pat and what remains of the family can find a way to strike back. The Musitano’s backed by the once powerful Rizzuto crime family in Montreal have a had long run at the top in Hamilton. But with Vito Rizzuto gone and the Rizzuto family battling their own enemies the Musitano families allies are fewer and an era may be coming to an end.
