Gambino mobster Joe Isgro arrested in Los Angeles

Joseph Isgro was picked up in Los Angeles and is set to be returned to New York to face gambling charges. Isgro is an Academy Award nominated producer and record promoter but authorities claim he is also a Gambino crime family mobster. Back in 2000 he was identified in an affidavit by the FBI as one of 192 members of the Gambino family and held the rank of soldier. He was also convicted in 2000 for running a loan sharking operation in Beverly Hills and was sentenced to 50 months in prison. Authorities claimed he was lending money to people in financial distress with a 5% a week interest rate and using subordinates to threaten any one falling behind on payments.
