A new biopic on the life of infamous mobster James “Whitey” Bulger called “Black Mass” directed by Scott Cooper is currently being filmed. Playing the part of Bulger is famed actor Johnny Depp who should be a fabulous fit for the role. Depp now 50 has played in other crime movies which include Donnie Brasco and Public Enemies. Depp when asked about his role in upcoming picture said that Bulger’s character was a fascinating one and unlike anything he had done before on this level. He said he was excited to slide into that kind of skin a little bit. Bulger was convicted in 2011 on 11 counts of murder and various other organized crime related charges after being on the run for years. Depp really does look like a dead ringer for Bulger if pictures leaked from the set.

This is not the first time Bulger now 84 has been a source of awe for the big screen and Hollywood as he was the inspiration for the character played by Jack Nicholson in the award winning movie “The Departed“. Depp said he felt an added responsibility when playing parts that are based on real people. Depp has always been known as a great actor who can transform himself to fit all kinds of roles. As more photo’s continue to leak out from the Bulger movie set we can see how much Depp actually resembles Bulger and this should make for what we hope to be a great new film.
