Gambino family capo John Ambrosio pleads guilty

Gambino crime family captain John “Johnny Boy” Ambrosio plead guilty to racketeering charges according to reports.

He controlled a massive illegal gambling and loan sharking operation from 2014 through 2017. According to the feds, the operation included members of two New York mafia families the Gambino’s and Bonanno’s. It included various activities including illegal sports betting, poker games, and even gaming machines. The 74-year-old mobster now faces up to 20 years behind bars which could turn out to be a life sentence.

“John Ambrosio”

Ambrosio was arrested back in 2017 along with reputed Bonanno family soldier Frank “Frankie Boy” Salerno and a couple mafia associates. The 13 count indictment charged six members and associates of the two NY Mafia families in total. Ambrosio was captured via wiretap promoting his illegal gambling operation telling someone “you can play right here and save gas money.” Officials said that during a search they found old letters from deceased Gambino family boss John Gotti addressed to Ambrosio.

It seems like the veteran Cosa Nostra mobster has had quite the career in organized crime. Although it may have finally come to an end leaving an open captains chair for the Gambino family to fill.
