On this episode of Mob Talk with Mob experts George Anastasia and Dave Schratwieser we get a look back at some interesting Mafia history.
The guys go one on one with former FBI undercover agent Michael McGowan. During his career, McGowan was able to infiltrate three Cosa Nostra families including the New England and Philly Mafia. Agent McGowan talks some about former links between the Philadelphia and Boston crime families and how he was able to gain access to both. McGowan also talks about his relationship with Ron Previte and his time as an informant along with some information from Mafia trials he was involved in.
There is also some addition talk about the possibility of a movie being made about the Philadelphia mafia. Sylvester Stallone has optioned the rights to McGowan’s book “Ghost: My Thirty Years as an FBI Undercover Agent” and it seems like a new Mafia movie may be on the way. The book is a great read and this was a very interesting interview covering some of the more interesting parts of Mafia history in the City of Brotherly Love. Hopefully, we see the Philadelphia Mafia movie come together as a film about the organized crime family seems long overdue.
