According to several sources the Montreal mafia has a new boss in long time Rizzuto crime family mobster Rocco Sollecito. He was a faithful lieutenant to long time mob boss Vito Rizzuto and is known to be very low key and discreet. Multiple deaths in the Rizzuto family from the bloody Montreal mafia war and the sudden death of returning boss Vito left a power vacuum. Sollecito is considered as someone who could find common ground in the shaky Montreal underworld and calm the infighting which remained from the attacks on the Rizzuto family. It is still unsubstantiated as to if he has taken over as boss permanently or for a more interim time period but he currently holds the top spot.
“Rocco Sollecito”
Arrested back in 2006 as part of the Project Coliseum mob roundup which included many high ranking members of the Rizzuto family. Rocco was identified as being in control of construction records and bookmaking for the Rizzuto’s and was considered the number four in the family at that time. One of Vito’s most loyal soldiers his name was among a few rumored to be able to take over the mob family and possibly bring peace back to streets.
During a recent birthday party for his son Stefano Sollecito at a cafe lounge in Montreal several mafia members attended along with members of Hells Angels and local street gang sources believe to pay respect to the new boss. Likely many who showed want to remain in the good graces of the new leadership of the Montreal mob. Whether we have seen the last of the revenge plot set in motion by Vito Rizzuto before his death is yet to be seen but for now things have seemingly calmed down.
